The Trees Grew Emotions and Died

Cute. Comfy. On sale.

Boots: Rebels
Jeans: Almost Famous

I wore these all day and hardly took them off. LOVE. I have to break most boots in, but these are good to go and so soft. I watched them at work until they went down to final clearance and I felt obligated to buy them. I want to wear them with a sundress this week since it's in the 70's - not exactly shorts weather for a cold-natured person like me!

Patiently waiting on my shipment from Urban. Ok, not patiently, but I'm waiting. Counting down the days til I get Stella back...hurry up Wednesday! I miss my car:(

P.S. Go listen to Cold Cave & chill out.

"It was the smell of glamour"

Yesterday I went thrifting...and I got the most amazing vintage dress!

Dress, thrifted; Pearls, Mom's; Cardigan, SO...; kitten heels (that you can't see in these pics), Target.

I've been going back to my childhood lately - I've been attracted to everything in purple! This dress is some really old off-brand of Casual Corner. I went to Goodwill to get a maxi skirt, but this caught my eye. I love the little purple flowers and the sheath cut. It's a little big, which is nice because it's super soft and comfy:)I also picked up a really cute asymmetrical peasant skirt, but I'll save that for later. My stuff from Urban Outfitters should be coming this week too so I'm super excited to post pictures of that! I love that store.

You're Just My Type

I do not like wearing dress pants, so whenever a job interview comes along I avoid them at all costs. Today I had one, and on top of that it was colder than it's been in weeks, so I dug around in my drawers for a while until I came up with this number:

Skirt: Merona; Striped Tee: vintage Talbots; Cardigan: Simply Vera Vera Wang; Tights: Target; Shoes: Target; Pearls: stolen from Mom's
jewelry box.
I decided that I like tucking shirts in better today. I'm usually a more shirts-that-hit-below-the-hip-for-a-long-line person, but this ended up cute. I was offered the job, if that means anything:)

AND I already have my sights set on my next must-have outfit, a-la Urban Outfitters:

YES PLEASE. Hello, birthday present from fiance:)

Sick For the Big Sun.

I am obsessing over these shoes. I saw them online months ago and never got them. But as fate would have it, they turned up at work in a new bin and I dug out my size and bought them. Cheap, chic, COMFY. I am in love. I haven't taken them off very much. I envision these *possibly* replacing my favorite gladiators a little bit...

Jeans: Almost Famous; T-shirt: Charlotte Russe; Cardigan: Simply Vera Vera Wang; Shoes: Copelli.

These jeans changed my mind on bleached out and acid wash styles. I saw them and rethought the whole business. They are ridiculously skinny and ridiculously comfy - my two requirements for my jeans. They have an 80's vibe without being too dated-looking. HEART :P
Oh, and in other news, I turned 21 today. I'm more excited about shopping tonight than trying a [non-virgin] strawberry daiquiri. That's when you know you really love fashion :)

Forever, forever.

I got engaged last weekend! Of course things have been crazy busy between school and the excitement, but I have managed to do some serious wedding planning even after 1 week. Here are my lovely color choices...

So it'll be silver and lavender for the bridesmaids, I'll incorporate it in with the flowers and my accessories. Exciting stuff! Engagement photo shoot fashion is the next project to tackle.

There's A Good Reason Why Poets Dig Flowers

Today, my flowers are making me happy. Our room is filled with bouquets from my recital on Sunday night, and a few little arrangements from Erin's Mom. It's in the 80's, and I'm honestly just inspired by all these cheerful colors! I think flowers in the room really do a lot for mental health. OR maybe it's just the three-day weekend ahead of me :)

Here's my lovely yellow lily:
Cleaning the dead rose petals never looked so pretty.
The roses from my man...
If I can find a dress that embodies this bouquet, I will jump up and down with excitement! For someone who doesn't like flowers, my mother certainly knows how to pick a bouquet:)
